Ebenezer Student Awards
Ebenezer School in Mazabuka is committed and focused on improving the quality of education & methods with which it is delivered. Our mission is to provide as many children as we can to have the best opportunity at being all they can be by giving them a good solid start.
Jayne Muwo Award - Next Award Date is November 2020Introduced in 2012, the Jayne Muwo Academic Award is a $100 given to the best performing grade 6 student at Ebenezer School at the end of the school year. Students are expected to apply for the award within the first 10weeks of school following their grade 6 year.
60% of award is given as tuition credit towards grade 7 tuition. 40% goes to the student directly. The goal of this award is to provide hardworking students the opportunity to complete their grade 7 without the burden of worrying about school essentials like paying full tuition and school supplies. The recipient is recognized for; · Politeness to fellow students and teachers – good manners · Showing leadership in class – make sure others are quiet in class · Best overall grade 6 results – good overall results in grade 6 The following are also required; · Short essay detailing why you think you qualify · Completed Ebenezer Award Application available online and at the school. Student must have been at Ebenezer School for 3 back-to-back academic years to qualify for this award. This award is sponsored by Alex, Nathan, Fisyani & Kalimukwa Sinyama. Ebenezer Warm Hands Award - Next Award Date : 2014/2015
The Ebenezer Warm Hands Award is a service award of $100 given to a student who is an active volunteer in the Mazabuka community. The award is available to student in grades 5 to 9.
70% of award is given directly to the student and 30% to a Mazabuka social\community program that the student volunteered in. The goal of this award is to develop a volunteer spirit in our students early in their academic life. The recipient is recognized for any one of the following; · 20hours of service at Mazabuka Children's Hospital Ward · 20hours of service at a Mazabuka Orphanage · 20hours of service at a Mazabuka NGO (World Vision, PAF, Plan) The following are required; · Reference letter from one of the above · Essay detailing what you did and what your experience was working with one of the above · Completed Ebenezer Award Application available online & at the school. Student must have been at Ebenezer School for 2 back-to-back academic years to qualify for this award. First award will be granted in 2013/2014. |
